Robert Krieg, PhD
Robert Krieg is VP in Siemens’ Magnetic Resonance Business responsible for Product Definition and Innovation. Born in 1964, he received his PhD in physics and joined Siemens in 1991 as a researcher in Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Image Processing. He has worked on strategic product planning and in market research, before he became project manager for the award winning Siemens Tim Technology for Magnetic Resonance Imaging and pioneered novel MR-PET Hybrid Imaging. Later he was director for molecular MRI and business development. In that role he shaped Siemens’ programme for molecular imaging in MRI and launched several SW products to measure molecular signatures on a phenomenological level.
As head of Engineering he guided his department with a strong focus on faster imaging, exploiting sub Nyquist sampling and iterative reconstruction, allowing realtime imaging of physiological processes. In his current role he is also responsible for the global network of partnerships to drive Siemens’ innovations and further develop imaging technology.
